CBN Comment on UK Budget

Three little-noticed items from the budget delivered March 22 by UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, will be of interest to central banks and market regulators.

These are the UK government's plans for an independent Office of National Statistics (ONS), the new remit to the Debt Management Office (DMO) and the new Memorandum of Understanding on financial stability between the Bank of England, Financial Services Authority and HM Treasury.
