Mexico cbank reports 7.1% growth in GDP in 2000

On Jan. 31, 2001, the Bank of Mexico announced that GDP grew by 7.10 per cent in 2000, the highest growth rate during [ex-President Ernesto] Zedillo's six-year term. This figure, which is more than two percentage points higher than the last government's original forecast, will be confirmed by the Finance Secretariat in two weeks' time.
