Should central bankers preach?

They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Atlast week's press briefing on the Bank's Inflation Report Mervyn King, the Bank's deputy governor with responsibility for monetary policy, spoke of the UK central banks concern at the high level of house prices in the UK. It was noted that at no time did King mention either the words "boom" or "bubble" in relation to house prices.
