BoE reports mixed credit conditions


The Bank of England's quarterly Trends in Lending report, published today (July 19), presented mixed data on UK lending over the second quarter of 2012.

The report highlighted contractions in the stock of lending to UK businesses, with particular difficulties for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in raising finance, saying lending to these firms had been falling since 2009. The report said consumer credit flows were positive, but remained lower than the period before the financial
