Bank of Lithuania survey shows improvement in mortgage arrears

The results of a survey commissioned by the Bank of Lithuania, published on April 19, show a three percentage point fall in the number of consumers with overdue home loan payment during the past 12 months. The percentage of customers that are now in arrears stands at 30% compared with 33% this time last year.
The survey results also showed increased confidence among Lithuanian debtors. The number of households that consider their loans as a 'very heavy burden' fell to 35% from 42% last year.
