UK lending conditions remain sluggish: BoE data

Loans issued to UK businesses continued to decline in October as banks restricted lending, the Bank of England's Trends in Lending published on Tuesday said.

The report shows that net lending to UK business in October fell by £600 million ($937 million), compared with a rise of £1.1 billion in August. This was still better than the net decline of £1.4 billion in September. The data shows business raised funds predominantly through the purchase of bonds and commercial paper.
