India faces ‘significant’ inflation challenge


India has revealed that during the third quarter of 2011, global growth prospects further deteriorated, which "may" have an adverse impact on the Indian economy.

The intensity of the eventual impact will depend on how deep the global downturn is, according to the Reserve Bank of India. This is, in turn, "related to how the current and future financial stress in global markets are addressed", said the central bank in Macroeconomic and Monetary Developments review, released on Monday.
