Mortgage approvals rising in UK


The Bank of England monthly Lending to Individuals figures, released on Tuesday, showed mortgage approvals continued to increase in July.

Last month, 49,239 mortgages were approved, although not yet lent, to house buyers. The loans totalled £6.9 billion ($11.3 billion).

The rise was the third consecutive monthly increase, taking approvals 3% higher than in July last year.
