RBI: slow growth could help anchor inflation

Slower growth in some sectors of the economy could help India control inflationary pressures in the economy, said the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) August Bulletin, published on Wednesday.

The central bank said the high prices experienced in India over the last year were a "great worry" and the "dominant concern" that shaped the monetary policy stance. Although consumer price inflation had shown some moderation, non-food inflation continued to keep overall price pressures high, the RBI said.
