RBA – Statement on Monetary Policy

Recent economic conditions in Australia have been stronger than expected at the time of the previous statement published in May, notes the country's central bank in its latest Statement on Monetary Policy.

The report notes that the forecast is now for the economy to record modest growth of about 0.5% over 2009, with growth gradually firming through 2010. The report also notes that investment is expected to decline further over the year ahead, although the level of investment relative to GDP is
