RBI issues draft mobile guidelines
The Reserve Bank of India issued a consultation document on mobile payments in June.
Under the proposed guidelines only banks licensed in India will be able to operate what will be a rupee-only service. Banks will have to register customers for the service and offer the service to customer irrespective of which mobile provider they use.
