BoJ rate minutes: 7 April decision unanimous

Minutes of the 7 April monetary-policy meeting at the Bank of Japan, published on 8 May, show that the council unanimously supported the decision to leave the target rate at 0.1%.

The minutes also contain a digest of staff reports on economic and financial developments, as well as the central bank's views on the decline of exports and on risk factors. Various monetary policy actions are summarised, in the areas of reducing the policy interest rate, ensuring stability in the financial markets; and
