New standards for Australia's clearers

The Reserve Bank of Australia has released two new standards to govern the Australian stock settlement systems. One is addressed towards central counterparties, the other to securities settlement facilities.

The RBA is unusual among central banks in having a special board dedicated to payment systems matters. Background on the Australian setup is discussed in the annual report which the payment system board issues.
