Bank of Canada Monetary Policy Report Update

The Bank of Canada released its January 2007 Monetary Policy Report Update on Thursday 18 January. Canada's economy will pick up this year and next, while global growth slows, according to the report.

Meanwhile, "the robust expansion of the global economy is still expected to decelerate to a more sustainable rate" - 4.7 per cent this year and 4.5 per cent in 2008, down from an estimated 5.1 per cent in 2006, the report said.
