Rohde expects US fiscal expansion but fears for global trade

The US under President-elect Donald Trump is likely to adopt a more expansionary fiscal policy against a backdrop of increasingly protectionist trade rules that could hit global economic growth, according to Lars Rohde, governor of the National Bank of Denmark.

"It is very early days. We do not know that much about the precise shape of the economic policies of the US government. But based on what was said by Trump on November 10, it seems we can expect a little bit more of an expansive fiscal
