Angola asks for help from the IMF amid oil price woes

Angolan authorities have requested assistance from the International Monetary Fund, according to an April 6 announcement from Min Zhu, a deputy managing director of the fund.

"We have received a formal request from the Angolan authorities to initiate discussions on an economic programme that could be supported by financial assistance from the IMF," he said.
