The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) has launched an external investigation into a potential leak ahead of its unexpected rate cut on March 10.

Michael Reddell, a blogger and former senior official at the central bank, said a contact of his, who does not work at the RBNZ, sent a note shortly before the decision was announced, saying there would be a cut.
