Valter Filipe da Silva has been appointed governor of the National Bank of Angola after José Pedro de Morais departed over the weekend.

President José Eduardo dos Santos dismissed five ministers from their posts, along with several other members of the government, according to a statement released on March 5.

However, the former governor of the National Bank of Angola appears to have left on slightly different terms, with the president saying he “accepted his dismissal request”.
