TCH and VocaLink set sights on US real-time payments

VocaLink CEO David Yates

UK payments firm VocaLink will provide the infrastructure for a real-time payments system in the US accessible to 14,000-odd banks and other financial firms in the country, under a deal with industry body The Clearing House (TCH) finalised today (December 10).

The Federal Reserve is leading an industry-based task force in specifying the requirements of a real-time payments system for the US, but TCH and Vocalink are already moving ahead with their plans.
