Greece set to request new ESM bailout

Greece expected to submit new proposal to ESM in effort to unlock bailout funds

Greece is preparing to submit new proposals to the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) in a bid to secure a last-minute injection of bailout funds.

In a statement at the end of today's (July 7) extraordinary Eurogroup meeting, president Jeroen Dijsselbloem said although the Greek authorities had presented no new proposals, they were expected to submit a request to the ESM, potentially in the next few hours, ready for a Eurogroup conference call tomorrow morning.
