Central Bank of Timor-Leste launches e-payments network

The Central Bank of Timor-Leste (CBTL) launched an electronic payments network today (April 30), billing it as the first stage in a wider payments project.

The new system, called R-TiMOR, allows payments to be made electronically anywhere in Timor-Leste between any two individuals, companies or government organisations, the central bank said in a statement.
