Kuwait breaks new ground with regulatory data release

The Central Bank of Kuwait

The Central Bank of Kuwait today announced it will be publishing "financial soundness" indicators on a quarterly basis, making it one of only a handful of central banks to do so.

Governor Mohammad Al-Hashel said the new data were part of ongoing efforts to provide a "high measure of transparency" in the central bank's published material.

The new data, published on an aggregate basis, covers many aspects of banks' soundness, including capital adequacy, regulatory liquidity ratios, non-performing
