Dutch central bank adopts new supervisory structure

The Netherlands Bank adopt a new organisational structure over the weekend, in preparation for the launch of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) on November 4.

The European Central Bank (ECB) will become the direct supervisor of 130 eurozone banks next week – including seven Dutch institutions – which has prompted The Netherlands Bank to adopt a new approach to supervision.

Five senior supervisors at the central bank were handed new roles as part of the shake-up. This includes Femke de Vries
