ECB and BoE seek insights into yield curve behaviour
Vítor Constâncio stresses need for research into long-term interest rates
A host of central bankers and academics descended on the European Central Bank (ECB) this week for a workshop on ‘understanding the yield curve' in the wake of the financial crisis.
Yields in the eurozone have fallen to record lows in the past few months, prompting Vítor Constâncio, the ECB vice-president, to stress this was an "excellent time to be doing research" on the topic in his opening remarks at the conference.
