ESRB publishes framework for calibrating CCBs

European authorities were handed a guidebook on how to calibrate their counter-cyclical capital buffers (CCBs) this week – a key step on the path towards establishing macro-prudential policy in the region.

The European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) has compiled a set of indicators that signal when authorities should build up, reduce and fully release the CCB, which it published yesterday.
