People: Zambian deputy retires; Lautenschläger appointed at ECB

Zambia: Bank of Zambia deputy governor Bwalya Ng'andu has left the central bank to take up the position of permanent secretary at the ministry of transport, communication, works and supply.

Ng'andu joined the Bank of Zambia in October 2011. He was responsible for operations at the central bank, and oversaw seven departments, including those for banking supervision, economics and risk management. The other deputy, Tukiya Kankasa-Mabula, is responsible for administration.
