BoE executive director departs for private sector

The Bank of England's (BoE) executive director for policy and deputy head of the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), Paul Sharma, has announced his intention to step down from his post after 20 years as a regulator.

Sharma is due to take up a role at consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal as co-head of their regulatory practice, making him the second senior PRA official to cross to the private sector in the past week.
