Bank of England confirms Bailey as deputy governor

Andrew Bailey

Andrew Bailey has been appointed deputy governor of the Bank of England (BoE), responsible for prudential regulation. He will take up the post on April 1, 2013, when the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) comes into force.

Bailey currently runs the Prudential Business Unit, a forerunner to the PRA. But he will become PRA chief executive on April 1, when it formally takes over a major part of financial regulatory responsibility from the Financial Services Authority (FSA), which is being wound
