EBA reveals criteria for assessing good governance


In a further step towards the European Capital Requirements Directive (CRD IV), the European Banking Authority (EBA) has published guidelines for the assessment of the suitability of the management of credit institutions.

The guidelines stipulate that credit institutions should assess the suitability of managers and 'key function holders' prior to their appointment or immediately afterwards. Key function holders are defined as those staff members whose positions give them "significant influence"
