BoE’s King highlights limitations of monetary policy

The governor of the Bank of England, Mervyn King, has joined a growing chorus of central bankers expressing concern about the limitations of loose monetary policy to stimulate economic activity. King's comments follow the release of the Bank for International Settlements' annual report eariler this year, which states the ability of central banks to continue supporting economic activity is now extremely limited.
