State Bank of Vietnam announces counterfeit note findings


The State Bank of Vietnam has revealed a drop in the number of counterfeit banknotes seized in the first half of this year compared with the same period in 2011.

"The amount of counterfeit Vietnamese banknotes collected through the banking system and the State Treasury in the first half of 2012 decreased by 13.41% in comparison with the corresponding period of 2011," said a statement posted on the central bank's website on August 30.
