King says black clouds remain over UK economy

The governor of the Bank of England (BoE), Mervyn King, today (August 8) brought gloomy economic news as he unveiled the latest edition of the BoE's Inflation Report.

In it, the "recent pattern" of dismal quarterly growth was predicted to continue and the danger posed by the eurozone situation was highlighted as the "greatest threat" to the UK's economic recovery.
