IMF urges Russian central bank to tighten policy

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has published the results of the latest Article IV consultation with the Russian Federation. In the document, released on August 2, the Fund encourages further monetary policy action from the Bank of Russia.

The assessment noted Russia's continued economic recovery in 2011 with growth of 4.3% recorded, the same figure as in 2010. "Economic activity rebounded in the second half of the year on the back of a favourable harvest and high oil prices," the report
