argentina-banknote

The president of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, on July 26 unveiled a new 100 peso banknote that will feature a portrait of Maria Eva Duarte de Peron, the iconic former first lady of the country.

The announcement was made on the 60th anniversary of Peron's death. Fernandez's political party was inspired by Eva's husband, Juan Peron. The president said the initial issuance of the banknote would be commemorative, but eventually, she said she would like to see all new 100 peso notes
