Central Bank of UAE enhances security features in banknotes

uae-50-dirham

The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates on July 22 announced that plans were afoot to introduce into circulation an updated 50 dirhams banknote.

The reprinted note will include a new security feature. The silver metallic thread currently displayed on the front of the note will be replaced with a broader (3mm wide), colour-shifting thread reading 'UAE 50'. The overall design and other specifications of the note will remain the same.

The amended banknote will enter circulation as legal tender
