Graeme Wheeler to replace Bollard as New Zealand governor

New Zealand's finance minister, Bill English, said he planned to appoint Graeme Wheeler as governor and chief executive of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ), after incumbent Alan Bollard's second five-year term expires on September 25 this year.

Wheeler, who has worked as deputy secretary of the New Zealand Treasury and treasurer of the country's Debt Management Office, was employed at the World Bank for 13 years until 2010. His most recent roles at the multi-lateral lender include managing
