New Zambian banknotes will not feature a portrait


The Bank of Zambia has confirmed that the new banknotes printed after the rebasing of the currency will no longer feature images of people.

In January, it was announced that the Zambian currency, the kwacha, was to be rebased. With all denominations set to be divided by 1,000, this meant the banknotes and coins all needed to be replaced.
