ECB calls for comments on payments system security recommendations

The European Central Bank (ECB) on April 20 announced that the public consultation process was under way concerning recommendations made by the European Forum on the Security of Retail Payments about improving the security of internet payments.

The forum was established in early 2011 at the suggestion of the Payment and Settlement Systems Committee of the ECB as a voluntary co-operative initiative between relevant European authorities.

The recommendations were endorsed by the governing council
