CB.com poll finds support for financial transaction tax


The latest poll on CentralBanking.com came to an end today, March 2. The question asked was: "Would you in principle, support the introduction of a financial transaction tax?"

The results showed that with 48 votes, 56% of those that took part said "yes", they would support the step. The remaining 39 voters said "no".

This result will disappoint officials in several European countries. Not least in the Netherlands. A study released by the Netherlands Bank in February 2012 said the introduction of
