Madagascan central bank staff revolt: reports

Staff at the Central Bank of Madagascar have staged a sit-in to protest over the replacement of the governor.

Newswire Reuters quoted one protestor as saying the group would "continue our strike tomorrow, we are challenging the appointment of the new governor".

The employees are reportedly less than impressed by the unceremonious dismissal of Frederic Rasamoely by the country's transitional government. The strikers say the move contravened the bank's independence.
