
SNB announces year-long delay on new banknotes

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) on February 9 announced that "technical problems" in the production of the long-awaited new banknote series would mean a delay of "at least" a year in the issuance of the currency.
Walter Meier, spokesman for the central bank, confirmed the problems originated at security printing company Orell Füssli, which is handling the order of the new banknotes.
