BoE and Treasury Committee clash over accountability


The UK Treasury Select Committee on January 23 said Bank of England proposals to improve accountability arrangements fell "well short of what is required".

The discussion over the reform of the central bank's corporate governance structure and accountability procedures have remained in the spotlight since considerably enhanced powers and responsibilities were unveiled for the institution.
