FSB discusses plans for the year


Meeting in Basel on January 10, the Financial Stability Board (FSB) discussed its work plan for 2012 to strengthen global financial regulation. Topics covered included systemically important financial institutions (Sifis) and shadow banking.

The FSB also announced the establishment of an expert group to look into the implementation of a legal entity identifier system and focused the attention of the over-the-counter derivatives co-ordination group on establishing adequate safeguards for a global
