Zambian president sparks ‘fake’ money panic


The Zambian parliament was on Friday told that the Bank of Zambia had printed money worth close to 110 billion kwacha ($21.4 million) without following the provisions of the Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) Act.

Zambian finance minister, Alexander Chikwanda, made the claim. He said the illegal activity took place during the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) party's reign in government.
