France confirms Cœuré as ECB nominee

The French finance ministry on Thursday announced the nomination of Benoît Cœuré to join the European Central Bank's (ECB) executive board.

François Bourguignon, who was chief economist at the World Bank between 2003 and 2007 and is now the director of the Paris School of Economics, believes the choice is an "excellent" one.
