Austria pushes ahead with Basel III


Austrian supervisory authorities plan to introduce Basel III rules before the set deadlines, after they revealed details of a new package of measures to bolster the country's banking groups' capital bases.

In a statement released on Tuesday by the National Bank of Austria, in collaboration with the Austrian Financial Market Authority, supervisors said they planned to introduce a requirement that banking groups in the country fully implement the Basel III capital standards as soon as they take
