Lagarde holds crucial talks with Beijing


Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on Thursday met Chinese officials to discuss China's policy response to the recent turmoil plaguing the global economy.

During the trip to Beijing, Lagarde met Chinese premier Wen Jiabao and Zhou Xiaochuan, governor of the People's Bank of China, to discuss key challenges facing the global economy, including the eurozone crisis, and the implications for China and the Asia region.
