Fears over Libyan central bank money realised: reports

Newswire Reuters on Tuesday reported a 10-vehicle convoy had entered Niger carrying money and gold taken from a branch of the Central Bank of Libya.

The report quoted Abdel Hafiz Ghoga, a spokesperson for the National Transitional Council and confirmed the fears that deposed Libyan dictator colonel Muammar Gaddafi might steal from the central bank.

In August, former governor of the Central Bank of Libya Farhat Bengdara said Gaddafi may have run off with billions of dollars worth of gold. He said
