Sudan relinquishes control of financial system in the South

The Central Bank of Sudan on Sunday issued a set of resolutions on the interaction between the north and the south central banks after the declaration of secession of the south state.

The Republic of South Sudan was recognised as a sovereign and independent state on July 9, 2011. The central bank of Sudan, in the north, accordingly introduced a framework of measures and procedures for the secession of South Sudan that will be in place until amendments to the laws can be made.
