Reserve Bank of India deputy governor retires

Shyamala Gopinath on Monday retired as deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India. She was deputy governor for more than seven years and served 39 years in total at the reserve bank.

A spokesperson for the central bank told CentralBanking.com that the selection process had been completed to find a replacement and the announcement would be made "soon".

In the meantime, the remaining three deputy governors will cover Gopinath's workload.

The reserve bank has also added two new executive
